"The short answer to getting an affiliate link in your article is to a) buy a domain name, and then b) redirect the domain name to the affiliate page.

Sound expensive and complicated? It’s so NOT! You don’t even need website hosting to do this…. just a domain name!"

If I had a nickel for every time some one told me, in a forum or ebook, to do a "simple" re-direct....well, you know what I mean.

This is the very first time I have seen an explanation of exactly what a re-direct is and what it actually means and does.

I am not new to IM...a few years and many thousands of dollars "Going Ga-Ga for Guru's" as I call it. Trying this and that and believing...trusting people by their word.

PPG, I was about to give up...again. I am not sure how I found you exactly I am just glad I have. I have read the Conversation with Nick and am reading the guide now. Finally, a real step by step how-to guide.

A little early for thank yous but after the road I have been on for this many years it is nice to see a straight, to the point action guide that says what it does and does what it says. Not a bunch of fluff and junk and immediate pounding by the guru lists pumping this, that, and the other next big cure all mega fantastical end all, be all IM Junk!!

Not sure if this is the spot for this post but if I go looking for a forum or something I am sure that the "shiny things" will get me.

So just a little thank you for being real and genuine.

Now I am back to the guide...I'll be back.

Great post thanks. You've clarified what a niche is for me. I admit I was confused about what exactly constituted a niche. Now I see it's the people not the product. This is a great insight, so you can choose a number of products to market to the same niche, you don't have to limit yourself to one product.

Great tip PotPie, I will use it, but I'd also be interested to find out more about the Clickbank view on masking.

Hi there,

Are you getting commission from the link that is masked?

I was taught by a super affiliate NOT TO MASK your affiliate link as it strips out cookie and you would not get paid.

Please let me know. I'd like to use masking if it still works.

Thanks.

Donna and Mitch have a very valid point-I found when I did this was still getting many hops but was not getting sales-I changed to just forwarding which helped-the product turned out not to be a great seller any way-However since then have been scared to mask as do not want to get banned from Clickbank-my view for my self is it is just not worth the risk-just stay with forwarding-one point to mention when the site was masked i also had Adwords going for that site,it worked ok,Adwords will not let you redirect by forwarding-any ideas on that-great site and posts-Thank you.

That is pretty cool.my question is if the first product that you are promoting does not convert and you decide to change and redirect to another product, what happens to the link in that article.Lets say you were promoting a loss weight product and change to an IM product will you not loss credibility from your readers or followers.
