About PLR Content
Many folks have asked me about using PLR (Private Label Rights) content and articles on their WordPress niche sites. Does it work? HOW does it all work? What about Duplicate Content Penalties from using PLR articles on a niche site? Where are the best places to get private label rights content?
Let’s see if I can help…
About Using PLR Content on a Niche Site
PLR content (Private Label Rights articles) are articles that are sold, or given away to many people with the freedom to use them as they wish. While you should always check the guidelines for each PLR content provider, in general, these rights mean you can change the content and claim the articles as your own work.
The ‘Up Side’ of using PLR content on your niche website is that it is a HUGE time-saver. Imagine, already having all the research done and articles written for your site! Nice, huh? That let’s you get to ‘Step 4 -Hell Day‘ SO much faster!
However, if you are going to use PLR content to skip Step 3 of creating content for your WordPress niche site, there are some ‘down sides’ you need to keep in mind.
First off, a LOT of the PLR content that is available on the internet - especially the PLR that is given away for free - has already been used many, many times. If you use the PLR content exactly as you receive it, without any edits, your new niche site may have some real problems getting traffic, getting indexed, and yes, problems making you any money.
Always change any PLR content you get. Be sure it gets a new title, the keywords are edited to suit the needs of your niche site, and the content is at least 30% unique. You can use DupeCop to compare the original with your re-write if you want.
Also, sometimes PLR content just isn’t that good. It is usually ‘dry’ and not enjoyable to read. If you are trying to convert your niche site readers into ebook buyers, you want to build some credibility with your readers. Change the PLR articles to reflect your ‘voice’ and give the content some ‘pop’. In short, make it something YOU would want to read.
I use PLR content. In fact, I use it a good bit. I have had pretty good success with making sure each PLR article has its own unique title and a new, unique intro paragraph. I also make minor edits throughout the article for keyword needs, readability, etc.
I also like to purchase PLR article ‘packs’ or ‘bundles’ from sources that only sell a limited amount of the packs, or only sell it for a limited time before taking it off the market. This helps a LOT.
While nothing beats unique, one-of-a-kind content for a niche website, buying PLR content can be an enormous time-saver for those that have a few extra bucks to invest into a site.
Where You Can Get PR Content for Your Niche Website
I have bought PLR articles from many places - sometimes a Google search for ‘PLR’ + my keywords will return something, but not all the time.
Places you can get niche-specific Private Label Rights article packs and bundles are:
PLR Content - Many Various Niches (changes regularly)
Easy PLR - Limited Packs (many topics, ebooks too)
There are SO many places to find these packs, but these are just a few that I have used. As I use more services, I will link to them here.
I hope this helps clear up some of the confusion and questions about using PLR content on your niche website. If you want to learn more about PLR and how to use it in many ways to make it profitable, you can get a free eBook about PLR here.
